Not really sure what the logic behind that was. Like Baron Harkonnen half the time has a Darth Vader type voice and no accent the rest of the time. The one main gripe I think people have thats justified is that character voices change and are not consistent throughout. Dune is a classic literature fiction novel. This again is something I really only had to deal with for the beginning until I got everything straight in my head. the Three Body Problem, I found I needed to look at the text to keep the Chinese names clear in my head as a non-speaker of the language. I have also had this issue with books with foreign names, i.e. Dune Audiobook by Frank Herbert Dune Audiobook text Dune is based upon a complex thought of culture set roughly 20,000 years in the future. I think it's worth it but it is probably worthwhile to have the text to look at as well. When I got off the road trip I had to go back and look at cliff notes to confirm what I had listened to. Dune: Book One in the Dune Chronicles audiobook written by Frank Herbert. I listened to it for the first time on a road trip not having read the book before and I found that it was pretty difficult to follow for the first half especially because there are so many characters and unique names etc.
